Intro to To Be Honest

Welcome to To Be Honest, a newsletter where I share, with unbridled honesty, personal stories from my life. I’m obsessed with psychology, calling people out for bad behavior, self-awareness, asking questions, and the art of communication. A Chicago native, I’ve lived in Rome, New York City, Amsterdam, Washington DC, Los Angeles, Madrid, and Barcelona. Since I currently don’t have an internet presence, the following is a short bio with some background. 

After graduating from the University of Wisconsin - Madison with a degree in Creative Writing and Literature, I moved to New York City to work at IMG Models. As Head of the Creative Department, my responsibilities included compiling top models' composite cards, portfolios, and fashion show packages. While at IMG, I learned how to tell a story through images and developed a critical eye for photography. 

I left IMG after being promoted to be an agent for male models because I discovered that selling people, especially people who have no control over their talent, was not my speciality. Having previously fallen in love with Europe when I studied in Rome as an undergraduate, I decided to get my Master's degree in Sociology from the University of Amsterdam. My Master’s thesis delved into the consequences of gender, race, and sexual orientation passing. After graduating, I worked in corporate America for high-level executives. Most recently, I’ve been living in Europe writing a novel. I’m currently in the process of revising it and will be sharing outtakes that I’ve cut from the final draft on this platform.
